Cabana Dimbul Morii

Just outside Brasov, Romania, on the way to the mountains, there is a hotel. Many years ago, the hotel got abandoned when the owner left the country.
Since then, a process of decay slowly goes on. Close to a main road, it’s easy to find – and so did people from all around: one needed a bathtub, one a toilet… even door-frames and the smallest things are gone and may still have an afterlife in a better maintained environment. Despite the ongoing decay, the hotel is still kind of used: some old beer bottles, here and there some clothes and a sleeping bag can be found.

Consonno

Located in the north of Italy, in the 60’s one had a vision to create a DisneyLand kind of amusement park – and failed.

What remained today is some buildings giving an impression of the ambitious plans – and is rather a tourist attraction than a lost place. With motocross bikes all around and people climbing the buildings, it cannot really be called “urbex”. But if you have some spare time, it still may be worth a visit.

Clinique du Diable

The Clinique du Diable is an abandoned hospital / sanatorium built on a hill somewhere in France. Yet I had no luck to figure out from where the name origins. Maybe at a certain point…

The clinique was in use until winter 2011/12. Since then it was visited not only by urban explorers but mostly by vandalizing teenagers and metal thief. The traces are very visible: not one window stayed intact; no cable remained on its original place; furniture outside the buildings and graffiti everywhere… The buildings are treated with a lot of disrespect.
